How do I get into Party and Wedding Planning?
I want to be a photographer but it's not always a full time job and I could go months without work. But I also like planning things for people. So I was thinking I could do party planning and wedding planning as well and do the photography on the side. But I have no idea how to get into it or what qualifications I'd need or what I would need. Any ideas?

- Try to find some Party Planning businesses in the area and see if you can land a part time job or internship. Once you get some experience and learn the inns and outs of the business you would be able to start your own company.
- Maybe go to college - take a short course on how to run your own business - stock up on books about party planning, do research online and see if you can contact someone who is a party planner and ask if they would be willing to meet you for a coffee to tell you about their work. Once you've done your research maybe get some business cards and leaflets made up and take them round hotels and see if you can spread the word through all your family and friends. Wedding planning is prob your best bet as I doubt there will be much demand for regular party planning with the credit crunch thats going on, Good Luck! x
- you would need to be very patient! think about it very carefully, and I agree with the others that wedding planning would be more lucritive if you were good at it. speak to people you know who have used a planner. find out what they did right or wrong. find out what you could do that no one else did. some unique. good luck
- rent videao.ot go to google
- Do soem party and wedding planning for your friends and their friends and slowly set up a buisness, or go to your local job centre and ask about party planning buisnesses around your area. Read up about it and do lots of reasearch.....
- I am a wedding coach, less well heard of by brides but wedding coaching can be very effective to reduce stress, keep them on track and focused. There is a massive difference between wedding planning and party planning. As a wedding planner your clients would expect you to be trained and experienced. A party planner does house party for everything from tupperware, avon, ann summers etc Get yourself to a BNI group in your area, if you are a good photographer you will probably find a good stream of business, the wedding photographer in my chapter does well.
