Civil Wedding Vows

I am about to get married, is going to be an informal civil ceremony, What I should wear?

Will be just my fiance and I and we will probably invite somebody else to take us some pictures, all our family is in our country so we just want to have a civil ceremony now and in a couple of year have a nice church wedding. I don't have idea what I should wear. Can somebody help me?

  1. I believe a lot of people will wear "Sunday best" type white dresses with lace overlay; or a white suit with a knee length pencil skirt. You could have fun with it and dress you and your future husband in a theme... but just for photos sake, keep it simple... like I said, something you'd wear to church or to someone else's wedding, just in white.
  2. Do you have a nice light colored pants suit or a light colored dress? Actually, if you have a favorite dress or skirt you can wear that too...wear something nice considering its your day but something you feel comfortable and beautiful in. Good luck and congratulations!
  3. you should wear a simple cream or white suit. maybe pant suit if you are more comfortable. lord and taylor carries many styles and sizes. a single flower and the man should be in suit with you.
  4. Light sport jacket and a black turtle neck!! NICE BLACK SHOES (BLACK SOCKS), AND NO JEANS!! Sears has beautiful slacks!! Good luck!!! Are sure you want to do that?
  5. my first wedding was a civil ceremony in court. i wore gold colored linen capris with gold flowers embroidered along the bottoms, and a white camisole. i thought it worked really well.
  6. What ever you want! It is your day and there are no rules, wear something comfortable and depends on what you are planning to do afterwards. Or, let him pick out his favorite outfit for you. You will look radiant and his eyes will remember how stunning you looked no matter what you wear as long as you say I do forever. Congrats!
  7. go to alfredangelo.com and go to destination weddings and that should give you an idea.
  8. i wish you both the very best. i suggest you both wear suits. something special, but conservative. something that you will photograph well in. enjoy your special day!
  9. A nice skirt suite? Thats what my mother did. It doesn't have to be white, maybe light pink or blue. Or just a nice (non-pricey) dress. But no patterns.
  10. People wear just about anything for civil ceremonies, including jeans, but I believe that THIS is your wedding and you should make an effort - buy a new dress at least. Not black, please. Wear an nice wedding suit or an informal white dress. Do take pictures and celebrate. I am not a big fan of "wedding do over's" - but it sounds like you are from another country and culture, and will be doing it there for family, so in your case it may be appropriate. Good luck
  11. A lovely two piece dressy suit in ivory or a soft color, or a soft chiffon dress with a silk jacket will be very proper. A small bouquet and your fiance should wear a dark suit, white shirt and nice silk tie and a boutineer. Go to a nice dress store in your area or a boutique and they will have what you need.
