I want to suprise my parents with a vow renewal. How would I get my mom to try on wedding gowns w/out knowing? My sisters & I are trying to surprise our parents with a wedding vow renewal and need a way to somehow get our mom to try on wedding gowns without her becoming suspicious.

In your opinion, would this be a "do over" wedding/vow renewal? I just want opinions. Here is the whole story: We sent out our engagement announcements with our planned wedding date of 10-31-2009. We have contracts in place & deposits put down with reception venue (food & location), photographer, and DJ. Out of state & out of country family are making plans and saving the money to be able to attend our wedding in 2009 and it is very important to us to have the family there to celebrate with us. With my previous employer my fiance had medical insurance (they covered domestic partners). My new company does not cover domestic partners so he will not have insurance until we are married. We were talking about going to the courthouse on 10-31-2008 with just our parents, maid of honor & best man (they are the ones we would want to be our witnesses) and not saying anything to the rest of the family and arranging with a minister for a vow renewal in 2009 and continuing on with the reception as planned. The only reason is so he would have insurance is this, in your opinion, a "do over" situation? if he were still covered under my old employer we would 'rush' the legal i do's I meant we would not rush saying "I Do" We still have time before the 'old' coverage expires, but not until Oct. 2009, and the date 10/31 is very important to us. I suggested we move the wedding up to '08 and have the ceremony Oct 31 for anyone that can come (since it is a Friday) and have the reception Nov 1st - but it would cause problems for long-distance family. We are still discussing the whole thing. He just reminded me of one other fact. If we were to move up to '08, there is another family member (on his side) getting married that month. I wouldn't want her to feel I am stepping on her toes by rescheduling too close to her date. And it might put a burden on family members invited to both (they will have to pay for accomodations to attend our wedding).
